Meet our VP, Strategy, Jack Tabner!

Jack works on strategy for Thriva and joined the team in 2020. He is leading the development of the business's international expansion, and implementing Thriva's Life Sciences strategy.  

1. At Thriva Solutions my job is to...I'm responsible for driving business and product strategy, supporting fundraising and delivering our plans for international expansion beyond the UK. A current focus is implementing our Life Sciences strategy and identifying new business opportunities in Decentralised Clinical Trials. 
   
   
2. Diagnostics as a Service matters because…collecting, analysing and reporting biodata at scale is hard, and underestimating the logistic and clinical complexity is risky for businesses. If we want to democratise access to actionable health insight and empower individuals to take control of their wellbeing then flexible, effective and affordable diagnostics are essential - Diagnostics as a Service is the best way to deliver this. 
   
   
3. The biggest influence on my career has been...too many professional mentors to single someone out, but my parents and various family members working in the NHS influenced me to want to work in this field.
   
   
4. The professional principle I refuse to compromise on is...we rise by lifting others.
   
   
5. The secret to a winning team is...make it fun. 
   
   
6. The website I can't do without is...not a website, an app - BackThen. An amazing way of sharing baby photos with family members. I highly recommend it to new parents.
   
   
7. My superpower would be...time manipulation.
   
   
8. I wanted to grow up to be...a jazz musician. 
   
   
9. My bad habit is....getting distracted by email/Slack 1-minute before a meeting starts, and then arriving 2-minutes late. 
   
   
10. Breakfast is...I'm in a yogurt and berries phase at the minute. 
    
    
11. You might not know me as....a former captain of England's U21 Dodgeball team.
    
    
12. I'd advise my younger self to...put a bet on Leicester City to win the Premier League in the 2015/16 season. 
    
    
13. The last time I danced was...not sure you can technically call my moves dancing.
